On ​​May, 23-25, 2013 for the first time in the CIS on the basis of JSC ‘Republican Scientific Center for Neurosurgery’were conducted training courses by the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS) which focused on the problems of neuro-oncology, functional neurosurgery and neurological trauma. The organizers of the training cycles are the Republican Scientific Center for Neurosurgery and the Kazakh Association of Neurological Surgeons.

   Leading neurosurgeons from Russia, France, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Turkey, Israel and other countries came to Astanato lecture and consult patients. Among them the president of the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies Vladimir Benesh (Czech Republic), the chairman of the Education Committee of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies, Professor Yoko Kato (Japan), the director of the neurosurgical department at Children's Hospital ‘Dana’, the SouraskyMedical Center ‘Ichilov’ TelAviv, ShlomiConstantini (Israel) and other well-known scientists.

    EANS courses are a traditional event and are held in Europe for many years. The main objective of the Courses is to provide neurosurgeons with the latest information on neurosurgical diseases and modern methods of treatment. The Courses attract experienced professionals of European neurosurgery and share their experiences through lectures and discussions as well as help students find right solutions in specific cases.

    Conducting the training courses of the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS) in Astana is a momentous event for Kazakhstani neurosurgery.
