5 ) ‘Stereotactic neurosurgery,’ PhD, neurosurgeon of the Department of Stereotactic and Radiation Neurosurgery of Clinic Hospital Na Homolce, Prague, Czech Republic, from November 25-29, 2012. The master class consisted of lectures after which discussions were held, hands-on sessions with radiologists, introduction and application lesson with the stereotactic equipment, discussion of diagnostic protocols. Patients prepared for surgerywere inspected. During the master class were made 2 (two) stereotactic operationson deep brain tumor. The operations were successfully performed, no complications were noted. Trainings for simulation of localization of targetsin the deep parts of the brain were held. At the end of the master class were given certificates from the clinic Hospital Na Homolce, Prague, Czech Republic.
As part of the implementation of the Institute of mentoring in the JSC ‘RSCN’ in 2012 doctors from Russia, Germany, Switzerland and other countries were invited to conduct master classes, lectures, operations, and seminars for the employees of the Center.
Improving the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with sequelae of traumatic brain injury and vegetative state.
From September 13-26, 2012,doctor of medical sciences, researcher neurosurgeon FSBI‘Prof. A.L.PolenovaRussian Scientific Research Institute of Neurosurgery’AndreyKlimashwas invited to the seminar on: ‘Improving the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with sequelae of traumatic brain injury and vegetative state’, examined patients and gave recommendations. Lectures were given on the following topics:
1) The diagnostic features of traumatic brain injury and clinical picture of supratentorial compression of the brain in patients with severe traumatic brain injury;
2) EEG diagnosis of supratentorial compression of the brain in severe traumatic brain injury.
3) computer- tomographic diagnosis of supratentorial compression of the brain in patients with severe traumatic brain injury;
4) principles of treatment of patients with severe traumatic brain injury;
5) featuresof diagnosis of the vegetative state;
6) prognosis of the passage of the vegetative state, conservative treatment of patients in the vegetative state;
7) methods of electrical stimulation of the brain and spinal cord.
Immunohistochemical diagnosis of human tumors.
To the Pathology Department of the Center on October 8-12, 2012, was invited famous Russian scientistPetrovSemyonVenediktovich.
PetrovSemen Venediktovich is the President of the Russian branch of the International Academy of Pathology, doctor of medical sciences, Professor of the Department of Pathological Anatomy of the Kazan State Medical University, Head of the reference laboratory of the immunohistochemical diagnosis of tumors of the National Clinical Oncology Center of the Ministry of Healthcare of Tatarstan, Kazan.
Petrov S.V. has vast experience in the immunohistochemical study of all human tumors, more than 200 scientific publications and is the author of the only comprehensive manual for the immunohistochemical diagnosis of human tumors in Russia.
Petrov S.V. held consultations, rapid diagnosis of intraoperative biopsy of the tumor patients, lectures on ‘Current approaches to the morphological and IHC diagnosis of primary tumors of the central nervous system’, ‘ Morphological and IHC diagnosis of brain metastases’, ‘Actual problems of modern tissue diagnostics (cancers, lymphomas and damage of the central nervous system) and application of molecular techniques in practical oncomorphologicalpractice’,‘Modern morphological diagnosis of tumors of bone and soft tissue’.
Neurorehabilitation
On October 22 to November 2, 2012,Karl-Heinz Mauritz, Berlin, Germanywas invited to read the lecture on ‘Neurorehabilitation’.
Karl-Heinz Mauritzis a neurologist, rehabilitation specialist, head of the Department of neurological rehabilitation at university hospitals ‘Charite’ in Berlin and Benjamin FranklinHospital. Professor Mauritzs K.- H. is a leading member of the rehabilitation center ‘Median’, Berlin, specializing in neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation . Over a 20-year period of practice in the field of neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation in Germany, he has successfully implemented methods for restoration of physiological skills with unique simulators, developed methods of physical therapy, obtained good results in the treatment of patients with hemiparesis when using the drug Botox.
Microsurgery of the skull base tumors
November 12-16, 2012 on the basis of the center was held the educational workshop on ‘Microsurgery of the skull base tumors’ where were invited professors of the University Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland - EvaldasCesnulisMDPhD andNicolas de Tribolet.
Invited experts EvaldasCesnulis, Professor Nicolas de Tribolet are leading specialists in Switzerland, members of suchcompetent international organizations as Swisssociety of neurosurgery, Swiss Society of Neurology, American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (USA), American Academy of Neurosurgery, Society of University Neurosurgeons (USA), Senior Society of Neurological Surgeons (USA), Association des Médecins, Genève (AMG).
There were conducted complex neurosurgical operations to remove brain tumors. Between operations they examined patients and discussed diagnoses and treatment procedures.
Neurorehabilitation in neurosurgery
On November 14-23, 2012 the Deputy Director FSBI‘Prof. A.L.Polenova Russian Scientific Research Institute of Neurosurgery’of the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Protection, doctor of medical sciences, Professor Natalia YevgenievnaIvanovawas invited to read the lecture on ‘Neurorehabilitation in neurosurgery’.

Neurostimulation of spinal cord
On November 5-16, 2012 was invited Professor Geert Spincemaillefor mentoring on the spinal cord neurostimulation.
Professor Geert Spincemaille, PhD, neurosurgeon of the University Hospital Maastricht, the Netherlands. Work experience of 38 years. Deals with the problems of chronic neuropathic pain, neuromodulation and ischemic disorders of the lower extremities.Full member of the World and European Associations of Neurosurgical Societies, the Dutch Association of Neurological Surgeons.He has more than 50 scientific publications.
Professor Geert Spincemailleread lectures, presentations and conducted the operation to implant the spinal cord stimulator.
