Master classes and consultations at the multidiscipline regional hospital of Kokshetau

Yesterday, May 16, a group of doctors from the National Center for Neurosurgery, at the invitation of Akmola Region Akim Marat Akhmetzhanov, as part of an event dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the city of Kokshetau and the 60th anniversary of the NAO "Medical University Astana", held consultations for patients of the clinical diagnostic clinic and inpatients of the neurosurgery department of the Multidisciplinary regional hospital of Kokshetau.

This event was attended by the CEO of JSC “NCN”, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Prof. Serik Akshulakov, Dr. Gauhar Ibatova – neurologist of the Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery, Dr. Nurali Ashirov – neurosurgeon of the Department of Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery, Dr. Nurzhan Abishev – neurosurgeon of the Department of Spinal Neurosurgery, Pathology of the Peripheral Nervous System, Dr. Baurzhan Kunakbaev is a neurosurgeon at the Department of Vascular and Functional Neurosurgery.

Doctors from the Center for Neurosurgery conducted over 40 consultations on brain pathologies, minimally invasive neurosurgery, pediatric neurosurgery and neurology, pathologies of the spine and spinal cord, vascular and functional diseases. Neurosurgeons also performed operations on citizen of Kokshetau: removal of a herniated disc in a 57-year-old woman and angiography on a man who had previously suffered an ischemic stroke to prescribe subsequent treatment. The operations were successful, the patients recovered from anesthesia after the operation and are preparing to be transferred to the ward.

Today, May 17, the CEO of JSC "NCN" Prof. Serik Akshulakov will take part in a scientific and practical conference with international participation, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the city of Kokshetau and the 60th anniversary of the Medical University Astana, where he will talk about the development of the neurosurgical service of Kazakhstan and the highly specialized neurosurgical care provided at the National Center for Neurosurgery.
