Herniated discs

Herniated discs is a deformation of the fibrous ring of the intervertebral disc with a gap through which a small part of the nucleus pulposus is stuck out because of the pressure exerted. Most often this disease is found in people 25 to 45 years old and is very rare in childhood. Herniated disc is a rather dangerous and complex disease of the musculoskeletal system which is one of the most common and severe forms of degenerative disc disease that can lead to temporary loss of motor ability and even disability.

Symptoms

The emergence of herniated discs is the cause of chronic recurrent and intense pain in the lumbar spine, radiating into the lower extremities. There may be a tingling or numbness in certain areas of the skin. Symptoms hernia can be diverse depending on its location and the volume involved in the pathological process of tissues. In some cases, the disease can manifest itself only in mild pain in the lumbar spine. With its progression hernia begins to squeeze the nerve roots which is manifested in pronounced darting and constant pains in the lower limbs enhanced while moving. Sensitivity disorder, muscle weakness, paresthesias result from violations of impulse transmission along the radicular nerve to the lower extremities, or from them.

Methods of treatment

  •  Decompressive-stabilizing operations with the use of pedicle designs, interbody cages and other implants
  •  Laser vaporization of the spinal disc herniation
  •  Endoscopic removal of spinal disc herniation
  •  Microsurgical removal of herniated spinal
  •  Dynamic stabilization of the spine
  •  Radiofrequency thermal destruction of nerves in the facet lumbodynia
