The procedure for admission to the residency
In accordance with the Model Rules for Admission to Residency, approved by order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 600 dated October 31, 2018, the National Center for Neurosurgery JSC accepts documents from 4 to 29 July 2022 for people wishing to attend the following programs of medical residency.
- Neurosurgery, adults and pediatric - 4 years;
- Neuropathology, adults and pediatric - 2 years.

1. General requirements
1.1 The formation of the contingent of students of residency is carried out by placing a state educational order, as well as tuition at the expense of students and other sources.
1.2 Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan are granted the right to receive, on a competitive basis, in accordance with the state educational order of free postgraduate education.
1.3 Training of foreign citizens in the residency is carried out on a fee basis.
1.4 Documents on education issued by foreign educational organizations are recognized or nostrified in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
1.5. Admission of citizens to the residency of the Company is carried out on a competitive basis based on the results of entrance examinations.
2. Admission procedure and requirements for applicants for residency
2.1 Persons who have mastered educational programs of higher education and internship are accepted for residency.
2.2 To accept documents and organize entrance examinations, a selection committee is created.
2.3 The selection committee carries out:
1) advising applicants on issues of a selectable group of educational programs of postgraduate education, familiarization with the entrance exam procedure;
2) the organization of reception and verification of documents received;
3) the organization of the entrance exam for groups of educational programs.
2.4 Persons entering the residency of the Company submit documents according to the list http://www.neuroclinic.kz/en/for_specialists/Education/rezidentrura/postuplenie-v-rezidenturu/perechen-dokumentov/
2.5 When accepting documents for residency, the Education Department checks the application of the certificate of completion of the internship received for the prerequisites necessary for mastering the corresponding residency program.
2.6 In the absence of the necessary prerequisites, the entrant is allowed to master them on a paid basis.
2.7 The list of prerequisites necessary for mastering the appropriate educational program of residency is determined by the Company independently.
3. The order and forms of entrance examinations
3.1 Persons entering the residency pass an entrance exam in the profile of a group of educational programs.
3.2 The entrance exam in the profile of a group of educational programs is conducted by the Company independently. Applicant passes the entrance exam for the educational program of postgraduate education in the Company.
3.3 Entrance examinations to the Company’s residency are allowed for persons with an average GPA score of at least 2.33.
3.4 Entrance examinations in the specialty are conducted by the Company according to the schedule of the oral / written form.
3.5 The results of entrance exams are announced on the day they are held.
3.6 Retake of entrance exams in the year of their passing is not allowed.
3.7 The examination committee makes a decision on each candidate on the basis of the competition based on the results of entrance examinations.
3.8 An appeal commission is created to consider applications from individuals who disagree with the results of entrance examinations.
3.9 An application for appeal is submitted in the name of the chairman of the appeal commission by the person entering the residency. Applications are accepted after the announcement of the results of the entrance exam until 13.00 the next day and are considered within one day from the date of application.
4. Admission to residency
4.1 Admission to the residency is carried out on the basis of the protocol of the selection committee, approved by order of the head of the Company or by the person performing his duties.
4.2 Persons who have scored the highest entrance exam score, but not less than 75 points, for training on a state educational order, at least 70 points, for training on a fee basis, are accepted into the Company’s residency.
4.3 In the case of the same indicators of competitive points, which receive the pre-emptive right for enrollment, persons who have certificates of passing the English test are awarded, then their scientific achievements that correspond to the profile of the chosen specialty are taken into account: scientific publications, including in scientific journals; certificates on awarding scientific scholarships, grants; diplomas / diplomas for participation in scientific conferences and competitions, etc.
5. Admission to training at the expense of the local budget
5.1. To participate in the competition for the state educational order at the expense of the local budget, applicants submit within the deadlines according to the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Company:
1) documents specified in http://www.neuroclinic.kz/en/for_specialists/Education/rezidentrura/postuplenie-v-rezidenturu/perechen-dokumentov/
2) an extract on the entrance exam indicating points.
The competition for the state educational order is held in accordance with the scores of the entrance exam for groups of educational programs, taking into account clauses 4.2, 4.3 of these Rules.
